Girl Power

It is good to be reminded sometimes that I can do anything if I put effort into it. I presented today for the first time at a writing conference as a teacher consultant. I had a packed room. It was nerve-wracking and exhilirating at the same time. I felt like the presentation was a little disorganized and random. Most of the comments I had were positive but it is amazing to me how I let the negative comments bother me so much. One participant said it was a waste of time and I was quite bothered by that. Oh well, you can't please everyone. Practice makes perfect too. The more I present the better I will get at it. Next time I am positive it will go better. I love this picture I found. I need to hang it up to remind me how amazing and superhero like all of us are.

You are just like me. It bothers me to bits when people are negative towards me, but there is one things I always keep in mind: "...it must needs be, that there is opposition in all things."

I'm sure you were fabulous!!! And I totally agree- it's hard sometimes to not let the negative get to us. Don't worry about it though- exactly as you said- you can't please everyone.

I went to one of our FranklinCovey courses to observe and network(FABULOUS presenter) and there were 3 people who wrote very negative comments that were similar to what you said- waste of time, nothing learned, etc...and I was thinking- UM, hello- these are award winning courses recognized all over the world- if you aren't satisfied with this....NOthing will make you happy...but again- Can't please everyone- and honestly, it's probably because of their attitude that they ended up in our class in the first place :)

Go Get 'Em Girl!!!

Shelly I'm sure you were amazing!!! Don't dwell on those negative comments...they're just jealous they can't present as well as you can! I know you'll do even better on the next one! Just keep your head up! Love ya girl! :-)

Good job! I think it sounds scarey to get up and present something, and it sound like you did really well. It does feel good when you have conquered something.
